Also, don't forget about your book.
It's generally best to summon him whenever one of the other two are down, since he'll instantly bring them back and make them invulnerable. He can also do a significant amount of damage just entering the area if he happens to land on an enemy.
If you want him to go to town then you're going to need a full devil meter or a safe position to get him started when you mount him. While mounted, his lasers (lock-on + forward + attack) are great at launching and stunning enemies so that you can start up his swing combos. He eventually gets a bigger, long-lasting laser attack (hold attack while teleporting), and if you trigger it just as the devil meter empties then he will continue to fire the laser well after the meter runs out.
But overall, V is very boring to play with. Just mash buttons whilst reading book and casting Nightmare.
He is a well designed and detailed character, but his gameplay just dont fit in DMC.
Playing him is a chore, specially when you have Nero and Dante in the same game.
If he could turn into demons (like for example Bayonetta with panther within technique) instead just casting them, it would have been more fun to play with. Of course that would mean an overall character overhaul.
Yep, unfortunately they didnt manage to make him interesting enough, gameplay wise.
The plot thing also feels forced. He is half Vergil but he doesnt look and act like him at all?
