Is it just me or V is much stronger than Nero?
and maybe even Dante.

his super ability (Golem) is much better than Nero's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fire swords. In fact, constant;y pressing and holding a button to power up his sword and all while moving around and fighting to just make a few strong attacks seems to be really inconvenient. And the outcome is disappointing.

Golem provides

- superior power
- AOE
- CC
- distraction

And V can read his book to regain the points he needs to summon the golem.(or just regain them simply by attacking enemies which is better than pressing numerous times and holding a button)

I've just got to Dante and he seems to be better than Nero but weaker than V ..Although my Nero doesn't have much abilities atm compared to V.

PS I like playing casters and tbh I' wish I could play as V throughout the whole game ;)

You're not suppose to be holding a button for Exceed. You "rev" the sword mid swing to power up the next attack. As as caster type V seems pretty neat, haven't played him yet but I'm looking forward to trying him out.

Well, the description says press and hold...Maybe I misunderstood it.

it's a mechanic that the game just doesn't explain clearly. If you press the rev up button when the attack connect it powers it up.

All I know is that I'm quite pleased with how fun Capcom made his playstyle, seeing as it diverges so much from the core gameplay the franchise is know for. I find it quite fun to pull of combos with him and I like how stylish his finishing move animations are.

Game does not explain this very well. Those who played DMC4 know how to use it.

You're supposed to time the Exceed button as the attack lands, similar to Final Fantasy VIII's gunblade trigger

.....but since you didn't know about DMC4, I'm guessing VIII is a bit dated for you. Regardless, have fun!

Honestly he kinda hurts my head in a multi tasking way lol

I'm having difficulties charging the bird while maintaining combos with the jaguar. I think I need to get the timing of attacks down and see if I can give my thumb more breathing room.

I played DMC4 back when it came out, so I didn't remember that at all. Oh boy, I was never a big fan of Squall's gunblade mechanics... I'll be giving this a short anyway. The combat is too much fun and varied not to at least try and do one or two tricks which might seem complicated.

Trust me, just focus on using one at a time. Or you could also use the LT skill for one, which will make it attack on its own for a short while, and focus on normal attacks with the other.

I'm still not too into Nero's arm system. I kind of wish it was still the Devil Bringer (although I know it can't be because of plot reasons) and it had a separate bar like SDT to use various skills.

I just don't really like not being able to choose what I'm using at the time which is something I liked about Nero in 4 because he had a little bit of everything. I can enjoy using an arm for a time and then because I've not been playing perfectly I might get hit and then lose the arm forcing me with something I didn't really want to use at the time.

I get that there are likely people out there who really like the system, but I just feel like it takes away my ability to choose what I want to use at any one time.

The amount of skill required to play V is the lowest it can be, the only real weakness V has is ... if his summons are dead, then he is pretty much useless...
V is very ''safe'' to play.

-------------
Im not really a combo maniac to play Dante, but even I had an easy time using Dante and mainly just using Trickster/Swordsman stance.
-------------

My biggest problem with Nero is his Exceed system...
I just cant get the timing right on the Revs...

Yes, I was a Pleb in DMC4 and used Automatic mode so Nero would auto-rev :|
Shame, we dont have it here ...

Tho, Nero seemed A LOT better after first playthrough... which is a thing I guess ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I thought there was an auto mode if you hold down right stick or something?

I tried playing it a while ago.. The fixed camera ruined it for me.

Anyways, I leveled up Dante and he kicks ass. =) But I still prefer V..coz I like casters
