Are you able to change your lock-on target while moving?
I'm trying to figure out if this is just me or what.

I don't like the lock on in this game. I really miss the combat from Ninja Theory's DmC, it felt better than this one, even with the issues it had. V is my least favorite character to use.

Press left joystick to switch target.

That only works when stationary, at least for me. Are you able to change targets by pressing LS/L3 while moving?

I'm having the same issue. Can't change targets because I'm always moving in battle.

Something feels weird to me too. So far I've only gotten the lock-on target to switch to another target by clicking in on L3 stick once or twice. I checked my xbox one elite controller in joy.cpl under properties and L3 click is definitely registering on the controller. Going to try another controller just to rule out that it's hardware but something feels off about the switching targets while locked on.

Sounds like y'all have already been playing around with it and I should try target switching while stationary? Anyone else finding this a little difficult to switch targets while locked on?

I've definitely had it happen a couple of times but 95% of the time when I try clicking LS to change targets it just does nothing. I gave up early on and have just been releasing and re-pressing RB to get a new target, which is kludgy but seems to do the job most of the time.

Just seems to be broken.

I've tried on keyboard and pad... and can confirm you can't change target while moving...

So dumb in a game where you are supposed to flow and combo moves between multiple enemies.

Not sure how this got into the game but it needs changing/fixing

Whoever thought the way targets is selected being pressing in the damn movement joystick, WHILE having to stand still is just utterly idiotic, we HAVE a damn right joystick, let us change targets with that when locked on, not like we can control that camera during that anyway.

I just unlock from the target and point the camera straight to the next target I wanna go to. Switching targets in this game is the clunkiest that target switching has ever been. It works half the time even when you don't move, so why bother?

The combat in this game has a lot of problems and we either get over it or we make an organized thread where everyone dumps their feelings so that hopefully Capcom will make adjustments (although this should've come up in QA, but ah well). Too many threads all with different issues might not be too helpful for them. One thread where all those issues amount to 100-200+ comments, however, is another story. They can't ignore something like that.

The problem with the targeting being so clunky, is that the game forces you to be in targeting mode, otherwise some moves (evade/slide and grapple hook) for example won't work. So It's not like It's something that you can just choose not to use

I'm well aware. I'm aware of all the issues plaguing combat. What I'm saying is, don't use the target switching. Unlock from a target and then lock to another once you have the camera in the right position. I do that and it works much better than switching.

And then again, there should be a thread focused on combat complaints. A thread with 200-ish comments would sure catch Capcom's attention and we'd have a bigger chance to see all of these problems addressed.

I have the same problem, but I started playing without targeting and found it more confortable. Only using the target button in order to perform certain abilities (like target+forward attack), because to be honest, targeting should be used for shooting (which is pretty useless).

Yeah, hope they fix this.
