Dante's style and weapons keeps switching on their own.
I'm playing with auto combos on (both because i feel more confortable with it and because my controller has the left stick that doesn't work too well). Now that i just started Dante's missions, i find myself with this really annoying problem that seems to not have a solution, and i can't understand if it is a bug or if it actually depends from the auto mode. If it's actually the second one, let me just say that Capcom needs to change that asap, it just makes fighting a living hell.

Why should they? That auto mode was designed to help new people getting into the system without learning the hard skills head on. The System switches weapons when it feels like it, because that is what it was designed to do. If you want to play Dante the way he has to be played, turn off auto mode. He's more fun like that anyways, mostly because even the game itself is probably a bit overwhelmed with the possibilities his arsenal offers

You're just ruining the game for yourself by playing with auto mode on. You should only use it so you can get a grasp on how the character plays and then try to do it yourself when playing manually. The game is way more fun when you experiment with it.

Turn off auto mode.

You're playing with Auto Mode on in a game that is all about doing stylish combos by yourself. I can safely say you're not even playing the game at this point, you're just watching a movie or something.

I understand that, but if auto mode means that literally every weapon changes even when it tecnically shoundn't (it kept switching even when i was not in a fight, just to point one), then there is clearly something wrong in how the mode was made, at least for how i see it.
Tbh i think that even a new player isn't stupid enough to not switch weapons while fighting.

I had the feel i would have been insulted for playing with auto mode. Sorry, but even with that on, i'm having the fun i was expection to have from the game (well, untill i got to playing Dante of course) and again, even if i wanted to play with auto off, i would still have problems with my malfunctioning left stick (and no, i can't buy a new one for the moment, so i'm sticking with what i have).

because until more than one button stops working, that controller is still usable for me.
And since in this case, my controller just has a problem with a stick slightly moving to a different direction sometimes, i don't think it's worth calling it "messed up"

That's pretty much a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for me. I should be able to decide with which weapon start the battle myself.

Because in my humble opinion, that should stop only on making weapon combos easier. Changing weapons midfight is something everyone, even the most noobish of the players can learn to do in mere seconds.

Changing weapons is one thing, changing weapons with precise timing without ruining your combo is another. Second one is something that can only be done with your own hands. The game already assumes you don't want to learn anything by enabling "Auto Mode", so of course it's gonna do what it thinks is best for you, your opinion basically has no value to it.

I mean, it's none of my business actually, you do you, but you can't blame the game for your own decisions, ya'know?
