Where is the Save File?

It is in different locations on different platforms.

Windows:
It is in the registry. To access it press Windows+R to open the run prompt. Enter regedit and hit Ok. The entry can be found at the following location.
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\The Voxel Agents\The Gardens Between

OSX:
/Users/[your_username]/Library/Preferences/com.thevoxelagents.thegardensbetween.mac.plist

Linux:
~/.config/unity3d/The Voxel Agents/The Gardens Between

Would it be possible to get those to sync with Steam Cloud? I noticed that Steam thinks Steam Cloud is supported but my game doesn't seem to sync between macOS and Windows.

I've found a way to move my progress across platforms by hand but it's not exactly straightforward.

1. Open a terminal and run this command;
   

   plutil -convert xml1 ~/Library/Preferences/com.thevoxelagents.thegardensbetween.mac.plist  -o -

2. Take note of the numbers that appear after "highestLevelCompleted", "highestLevelDiscovered" and "lastLevelPlayed" (they appear in the big block of JSON text below "SaveData")
   
3. Start a new game on Windows and play through the first level.
   
4. Open the registry editor and find the "SaveData" key for the game (it's called "SaveData_h" and then some numbers it seems).
   
5. Replace the "highestLevelCompleted", "highestLevelDiscovered" and "lastLevelPlayed" numbers with the values you took note of in step 2.

Note that this doesn't copy your game preferences and is simply your progression.

Big thanks, I will definitely try it, no desire to go through the whole game again, just want to complit all achievments.

Yeah I was kind of surprised it doesn't sync with Steam Cloud - I completed half of the game on my Mac and then I had to start again on Windows!

I know this is years on haha.. but i have lost all my progress and trying to change it back to where i got to if possible.. but there is no registry under that name? I started the game again and got to level 2 then saved and quit the game but still no registry, Anyone know if they changed the save location?
