How long is it? I don't usually play sandbox in most games that have it. It's pretty cheap right now so I'm thinking it might be worth it anyway.

Hello, thanks for your interest. There are 10 levels in the base game campaign. This will probably take you around 20-30 hours to complete. The earlier levels take less time to complete so don't worry if you race through the first few, it's deliberate so that we can introduce you to more advanced game mechanics more quickly. :)

If you enjoy the base game campaign, there are another 5 levels in Freshwater Frenzy DLC and 5 levels in Deep Freeze DLC. Each of these is probably another 10-15 hours.

These are just rough guidelines provided by me, the dev. I think it would be really useful for other players to share their views. :)

I'm a mix of creative and strategy player and I really love Megaquarium's campaign. I've played through all of them (including DLCs) a few times over the years on harder levels each time, and I've easily spent more time playing the campaign and challenge modes than I have in sandbox.

I would definitely recommend giving the base game a go if you like playing through well-designed scenarios! I feel they're balanced and satisfying to play, and really incentivise using all the different mechanics the game offers as you progress. Then if you do like it, the DLCs are there when you're ready to add in new mechanics to your games.

can second this but i was an achievement seeking superfan. always had fun making cool little aquariums.

Sandbox can also count as campaign if you are going for the cheeves! Join the 100% club!
