Fresh Water tanks and neutral pH
So, my aquarium is going well, and I just received the option to research freshwater fish, but I noticed that it requires a fresh water tank and neutral pH.

My question is - Do I need to research fresh water tanks and the equipment for balancing pH, or will they become automatically available once I have research a fresh water fish?

Tanks are made "freshwater" by adding a freshwater fish or plant to it. And freshwater tanks are Neutral pH by default with no additional equipment needed.

The only additional equipment you need to research is Reverse Osmosis (RO) machines for acidic water tanks when those fish become available but you can also make tanks acidic by adding Bog Wood to them. In fact, there's at least one person on these forums who does that exclusively because of the RO machine failure rate killing fish.
