Geography Guide

Hi everyone! I've already mentioned this in another thread, but thought I'd post it here for ease of access and because it would reach a bigger audience. I'm currently working a geography guide for Megaquarium, which you check out here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2124257524. It is a work in progress, but once it is done it will show each habitat and real world geographical location for each fish and (hopefully) plant in the game. I will also try to include a short compatibility guide as well when all is said and done.

I think a little region map icon on the fish profile would be an amazing addition to the game. You should consider teaming up with a mod creator to make that happen. It's the sort of thing where if it got popular, other mod makers would adopt the scheme.

I agree. I'd love a region icon. Maybe another hover-over option next to the info icon with a distribution map? Another option would be an additional encyclopedia type of ledger with each fish and their habitat and location. Sometimes I don't quite know if things like the plant requirement means they are found in kelp forests, grassy beds, or coral reefs and have to look it up.

Hi Wpark276! Sorry for the delayed response. Haven't touched the game or the guide in a while. I am wanting to comeback and work on it soon, and I saw that you've been working on this as well. I was wondering if you could post your research here in the forms as a post? It would just be easier for me to work with here. Thank you!

Also, to anybody interested, this guide isn't dead, I just go through spurts with the game, so when I'm not playing it I'm also not working on the guide. Thank you all for your continued interest!

Indeed, that is a great idea! You could get a mission to create a South American (blackwater) tank with X South American species or a Malawi Cichlid tank with at least Y species in it.

It would be great if there was a book or something to track what mutations we achieve by breeding, like an achievement list.

Hi all! Wanted to give you all a heads up that the Geography guide will be getting a (hopefully) big update soon! I've already gathered some info on around 5-6 animals at the time of this post, and I'm hoping to add more to the guide once I have sufficient information on some more species. This will include the new expansion pack animals, as well as some animals from the base game and hopefully the Freshwater Frenzy expansion pack. Don't know exactly when I'll add everything. I might drip feed it into the guide or it could just be a massive upload. We'll see. Stay Tuned.
