What does 'Shoalers' mean?

Sorry for asking something stupid lol But I try to figure out what the word 'Shoalers' means in this game? I'm stucking at the quest named 'SHOALERS EXHIBIT' in number 5.

"Shoaler is a requirement that some fish have. Basically it means that those fish like to be in a group of their own. Look at their icon buttom right, the two little fish. That symbol tells you, if a fish type is a shoaler."

I stole the above blurb from a post by Nedrial, so not mine, but what it means is that you must build a big tank and put 3 different groups of fish in it and those fish should have the shoaler requirement.

Not 3 differentiations, but the 3 of the same thing.

Wolves are also pack, or "shoal" creatures. So if they want to be 3 of the same pack, you don't put a single wolf together with a tiger and a cow. That's not a pack/shoal, that's just 3 different animals.


If a fish wants to be in a pack/shoal of 6, you put it together in a group of 6 of its own kind.

If a Zebra Bannerfish has a requirement of "Shoal 6", then I put 6 Bannerfish together in the same tank.

Yes, the game wants you to have 3 separate species that are marked as 'shoalers'. You'll also have to have several copies of each species to make them happy.(though you can just stick one of each to cheese the checkbox)
