Opinion: Staff Training Is Too Intrusive
I'm not sure how any-one else feels about this, but playing the game, it feels like the staff training part of the game play feels way too intrusive. Stopping the play just to train a staff member is quite annoying when you have a lot of staff.. It sort of brings back memories from the horrible game Disco Manager when you would have a cutaway whenever something in your club happened and a night that should have taken 10 mins to play took an hour because of the game-stopping and repetitive "feature". It's almost like the game is telling me "no, stop what you are enjoying, this really annoying thing is way more important than anything you are doing right now"...

A little glowing notification over the staff icon would certainly be just as effective and less intrusive so I'd have to agree.

I have to agree with this.

I'm playing on Brutal and there's a LOT of time in between expansions as you wait for your money to increase. In the first few levels, I enjoyed walking away from the game and doing something else as my funds ticked up.

Now that I have staff notifications, the game forces me to resolve it before I can continue and it turns everything into a chore.

So what Ralij said: Have the staff icon glow green, and don't let the game stop if I don't give it any attention!

+1 to this, i keep forgetting what i was doing or it will close the tabs im looking at and really throws you off whenever those staff thingy pops up

I thought the same when I was playing. Also, when you click the wrong training ... there isn't an undo button.

Nice one!! Thanks for the update! While we are at it, any chance that it can include the pop-ups for research and maybe the ability to condense "fish has grown" e-mails too? :)

Yeah, this happened to me 3 times while I was just enjoying a aquarium first person tour.
Every time the game paused and I had to end the tour.

I'm hoping that we can hire more staff per rank or some way to get staff. Hit rank 9 and was only able to get 1 more member.

More will become available as you earn prestige. Up to (looks like) 28 employees.

I have 18 and Im rank 9. Unless they give 10 on rank 10 haha.

glad that you hear us. I hope you know how seriously intrusive this is to gameplay though, you click into tanks, try to read the fish requirements .... and BANG .... you're removed from all of that just to do it again ... but just as you get in there .... BANG another one pops up ... and so on... this is constant. With lot's of staff, planning a tank is nearly impossible!!

Just hope you realise that, it is as game-breaking as many other bugs for big aquariums, but cheers for the effort, I know how hard it is to release a game like this. Thankyou :)

When the financial report comes up you should be prompted to train all the staff that leveled up since the last report. That way the game pauses from time to time, you have to actually be in front of the PC to train your staff and keep the game running and they wouldn't have to do a big patch revamping the training system entirely as they would ideally develop one in the future.

A simple hotfix just doing away with the pause would be nice for now though.

It's based on the number of prestige points you have, not actual rank which only goes up to 12.

I started my sandbox game at rank 12 and had 18 available employees. Yesterday I edited the save so I had 28,000 prestige points and another 10 employees became available to hire. Edited it again to 280,000 but no more became available.

Can you make it so the staff stops levelling completely once all their skills hit level 10?

I was hoping to find something in the save file to adjust how long it would take for my staff to level, like exp needed. But nope.
