Here I'll be posting my modding progress and showing what I am working on. I know modding still isn't fully supported, but it is still very possible so I thought I'd show these off.

Current modding achievements:
- New animated fish
- New scenery
- Tank backgrounds
- Vivariums for reptiles/insects
- New paints
- New campaign levels (Haven't been able to change the starting map without crash)
- New staff
- Pump connector (Allows pumps to connect to other pumps, allowing pump networks to be unlimited sizes)
- All fish available from the start of sandbox
- New tanks (For example, rounded large tunnel tank)
- Paintable entrance
- Reptile mods (chameleon, snake etc)

Current work in progress:
- Warty Frogfish animations
- New campaign levels with new map and objectives
- More custom scenery (plants, rocks, buildings)
- Substrate painting tool (I have got the game to show a change in substrate in the menu, but actual painting only paints the wall, not the sand like it does in the preview)

Of course the biggest dream would be the ability to place scenery off the grid. But I am sure Tim is probably against the idea and only wanted by the hard core custom scenery audience.

Managed to edit the game so all fish are now available in sandbox. Video added in original post

Did I see a Ruby Seadragon?

Edit: Might use these with the Red Sea Bannerfish and Purple-Striped Jellyfish mod critters, where ever those two went..

Niyo, it is actually a Spiny Pipehorse (Solegnathus spinosissimus) I made :)

I have started to craete 3D models of fish but unable to get the game to read the FBX files, I just recieve a crash. An insight from Tim would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately the only thing in my way is animation, which is refusing to work despite me checking everything with the bones and skin. I'll keep you guys posted.

hi, love the mods here, I have some problems making megaquarium animals myself, everytime I load an fbx file, it tells me to quit the game, how do I fix this issue? and what do you use to make the models animations for megaquarium?

Only FBX files from Cinema4D work. As for animation, I use bones and skin from a current animal and merge the animations. Then i have to do the weight painting and so on. Quite a tricky process.

Nice work. Still interested to see you share some examples, if you can. Like the pump connector for example, but not seeing updates on your website.

As much as I want to, I'd rather wait till we have full mod support. I sent you the .json entry for the pump connector didn't I?

I just updated the site now.

I did get a pump_connector file, thank you. I think it is an entry for the equipment.data file, and possibly some other file changes to reference it, but am not sure, as I haven't had time to figure it out/test it out.

I'll try to get to it and post any helpful info, if I come across any.

It goes in the tanks.data file.
