The EMP grenades stop them, deal light damage to them and make them take more damage.
Also if there are not too many tough enemies around, Pressing "F" while pointing at it will make the squad concentrate their fire on the target.

They are difficult, but once you learn the techniques, they become easier. Try sniping them, aim for the torso and the head, this will remove their armour and make them easier to destroy. The Anti-Armor weapon is also really effective against SBD's, if there is only one, firing one Anti-Armor shot should destroy them first time, for more than one, try and fire in the middle of two battle droids: this should spread the damage between the two droids and significantly lower their health. Grenades are also very useful. The Droid Dispensers are also very difficult, but once you destroy all the droids that it has jettisoned, launch grenades at any of the other SBD's that are dispensed; this should help to give your Commando enough time to plant the charges. Honestly, use sniper rifles. If you get a couple headshots (which are insainly easy to get on HUGE droids) then you will kill em with ease. If you don't have much skill in sniping and you have some anti-armor rounds to spare, then use an anti-armor gun. Hope this helped! :-)

Anti armor is by far the easiest way to destroy them, but those rounds are precious and should be used sparingly.
Sniper rifles are effective, as already said, but they do tend to take a longer time, which can be a problem especially when you're facing multiple SBD's like from a dispenser.
Another very basic manuever you can use is grenade pairing. First use and EMP grenade to temporaily subdue them and lower their armor durability. Then, follow that with a thermal det under the feet, to take out most of their HP and finish them off with focused fire from your squad. It's a fairly quick and effective way to take them down.

And if any of those doesn't work, just melee them and run circles around them. They won't stand a chance.

All Grenades work Miracles against them (except flash grendades, those dont do anything), especially EMP grenades, as they freeze the droids long enough for you and your squad to destroy them. The Genonosian Laser Weapon, Trandoshin Chaingun, the Conucussion Rifle, as well as the Sniper and Anti-Armor attachments for your Rifle also help. Other weapons arent as effective. Actually, I just go up and Melee the droid, running away when it trys to hit me, and go attack again, with my fellow Deltas covering me.

I usually save my anti-armout for bigger things, so I like to throw an EMP right under one or a group, and then go close to it and stab it until it is down.

i have a really simple solution take a sniper aim at the cove of their face blow it up and then when the cover is gone hit inisde the coverless space it will die with sniper in two shots if u play the cards right always worked for me :)

u dont have a sniper so wat just blow up the cover by your normal gun
well u dont have gernades all the time u can run out too
just aim rigth u see the red dot fire their when the cover comes down start firing like a crazy in it
