STAR WARS™ Republic Commando

STAR WARS™ Republic Commando

Co-OP?
Is there Co-Op?

Edit: I ask because I saw on Youtube someone playing co-op.

Yeah same here. I saw the tag saying coop.

However, this is also posted:
As of May 31, 2014, online functionality, including network multiplayer and wireless chat, will no longer be available for this title. We regret any disappointment as a result of the shutdown of the services supporting these online features.

So...? Is it coop? Can I play lan, I want to buy it for my friend so we can play it.

It is indeed still possible, first you'll need to host a server (use gameranger unless you have and know how to use a server box) then your gonna wanna open up the console once you are in your game (you have to be the host of the server in order to use the console) then your gonna wanna go in your program files and locate the folder called "maps" here is it's default directory: Star Wars Republic Commando > GameData > Maps. These are the list of maps that were in the campaign and also multiplayer, the next step is to choose one. Now go back in game, in the console write the following: open "the name of the file/map" and then hit enter, you should then be brought to that map. For example, putting in "open geo_03a" will then open one of the campaign maps, seeing how you just did this when you were in a multiplayer game, people will still be able to join your game even if your in a campaign map. Unfortunately though you can't actually progress the story automatically, so once you have reached the end of the map you just loaded you'll have to load the next one. For example: Say I opened "open geo_03a" and me and my friends just completed the map, you would progress the story by opening "open geo_03b". The great thing is that if you sort the files in the map folder to "name" and put them in ascending order, they will be in exact order from start to finish of the campaign. Also so that you don't get confused, the files/maps starting with "geo" is from the Geonosis portion of the campaign, "ras" is from the Ras Prosecutor portion of the campaign and lastly "yyy" is from the Kashyykk portion of the campaign. You'll also notice the multiplayer maps are there as well "dm" and ctf" you can load those the same way you did the campaign maps. Hope this helps, if you get stuck or have any other questions feel free to ask ;)

Thank you very much. I was wandering if there was a way to force start a map with only one person.

I'm trying to test this and make sure everything works before getting this for my friend.

I've searched console commands but all it comes up with on Google and here on Steam is cheats.

only Geonosis and the first part of RAS Prosecutor mission have been moded on coop.
If my information is wrong, let me know plz.
Actually I feel really bad that I cant play the entire game in coop. It would be even more greater.

I don't understand what you mean, just don't tell anybody your server and you won't get anyone joining XD

Also I don't understand what you mean, you don't know how the console works? If not all you have to do is press "~" (just under Esc) and then type the command and click enter ;)

I know how the console works but I wanted to force a co-op game to start while only I was in-game. I want to buy this game for my friend so we can play together but I want to test to make sure all the campaign maps work. I can't test because it just tells me it's waiting on more players.

I was unable to find any console commands using Google or Steam that were not cheats. I was hoping to find one that would let me force start a match with one person instead of being forced to have two players.

Oh I see what you mean, have you tried opening a Death Match map before opening one of the campaign ones?

Cuz I know for fact way back when I did this I would be able to open them and play by myself.

Well, I've seen a Russian video titled "How to play co-op" in the game hub (the name's in English, but right after it there's the Russian translation). Haven't watched it though.
