STAR WARS™ Republic Commando

STAR WARS™ Republic Commando

Just completed & wow what a stupid ending
Not gonna spoil it or anything but the ending was silly and it looks like it sets up for a sequel however that sequel never came to be.

I would like though Dice to reboot it? Now that they are making the new reboot battlefront i'm sure they would make another republic commando, similar anyway :)

I think that the openness is pretty nice. Leads pretty well into the novel that takes place after Order 66. If ya havent read it, read it.

I believe this is the sequel you are thinking of:
http://starwars.com/watch/episode_3_execute_order_66.html

The game came out about two months before movie 3, so it led into the movie nicely. In hindsight, it may look like it leads up to a game sequel... I guess it could have but it was the scene in the movie it was supposed to lead into.

There was a sequel planned though - and in production - Imperial Commando. Didn't happen though, unfortunately.

That doesn't make the ending stupid, personnally I love not knowing what really happens afterward, makes it have much more impact that way.

So what because leaving a squad member behind is perfect, it's quite harsh and cruel of delta squad. They could of ignored orders but noooo Master Yoda says something we have to follow that just silly.

I think I see what you meant by stupid: that as IP3NIX said: leaving a squad member behind is not perfect. How it ended the story was perfect.

It was necessary because the moral of the story is that order come before brotherhood which is the harsh reality of being a republic commando.

What i did find perfect though was the ending when the ship door closed and cut to the credits, now that is what i call a classic ;D

Anyway awesome game and wish they remade it in HD or sequel/reboot
Definitely hands down be buying that woo ;D

I agree, I love that too the whole "Delta squad, Lock and load"

and yes if Dice ever get the go ahead, the sequal will be fantastic, I can guarantee :)

The game's campaign is quick though, took me two days to complete it

To be honest, I would prefer the remake/sequel to be more like Rainbow Six style. The game is a tactical shooter. Mixed with fast paced action. But since EA pretty much owns the Star Wars games, I doubt that will ever happen. My only hope is they'll never consider adding health regen. 'Cause that will ruin the game for me.

That's the way an army of clones works. If you pay attention to the beginning, they're more loyal than regular clones, which wouldn't have dissobeyed that order. Only the Null ARC troopers were really independant enough to have said 'no' to the order.

Not every army story can end Saving Private Ryan style, which isnt exactly a bad thing. A 'happy' ending isnt always the 'best'. War is grim, and Republic Commado is easily the most down to earth thing is the Starwars 'franchise', or whatever twisted ghestalt that Disney makes of it.

Sucks that Sev died though, got attached to the game & the characters annoying as f**k
I guess also Sev was a distraction

Sev was pretty awesome. I was attatched to all of Delta by the end. Though, I'm more partial to Scorch than Sev.

R.I.P Sev

A well-built sniper rifle is a beautiful thing. Ours has two zoom modes, "Up close and personal" and "Hello, you're dead."
