"no cd mesage"

Ok so when I try and start the game in the steam library it just says RC has stopped working close program or check online for a solution. So instead I went to the file directly and tried running as an administrator and I tried compatability mode. When I use the SW RC.exe directly it opens up a main menu type thing. I have the options to either "start game, Manuel, Read me, analyze pc, Or uninstall" I click start game. It says "please insert RC DVD to continue. I tried downloading NO cd patch still same message. I tried changing the bump mapping in the ini files directly and even changed them to read only after changing said features. Still wont start no matter what I try it wont start. I am running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit with an ATI radeon 5700 graphics card. My computer can run this game. I know it. It ran crisis 2. So please. Someone help me. Try and break it down. Simple step by step instructions. I love this game and want to play please. help.

I have this same problem but from what im getting is you have to have an older pc, 32 bit for example. I have not found any solution to this as for I have 64 bit as well and same exact error. So I have just given up and assumed that the 64 bit operation system was what was not letting me run it. But if you ever do find a answer I would be happy to know

Thanks for you're reply however I know I have seen several people on this forum running it on the 64 bit version of windows 7 and windows 8
