No that's not what Local Multiplayer means, local means on the same machine. Product description is simply not accurate and pulled from the Xbox title which DOES have splitscreen multiplayer(Not Co-Op)
It also states remote play together, which is a protocal that only works on splitscreen/games that support mutiple players on the same PC.
This game only supports online multiplayer, and out of the box, no multiplayer at all because it relies on gamespy servers, which have been shut down. You can get LAN/online working, but requires some hacks. See the guides section or PCGW
The publisher just got the steam features screwed up. Not that uncommon.
