How do I enter the walker

You know that mission where youre at the back of the hangar and the walker comes up, how do i enter it i dont get an enter sign?

Based on what happened to me:
Approaching the ladder between its legs from the back will not let you enter.
The front side of the ladder should have the enter/use prompt.
