Steam or GoG
Should I get this on steam or gog?

Older games usually work better on modern PCs when bought from GoG. I bought it on Steam and had some minor issues that were fixed by a mod (Bump mapping and 1080p) but it wasn't a huge deal. Either way you'll probably be fine but if you'd rather not mess around with getting it to work, GoG is probably your best bet.
