It was state of the art back then
This game is a good shooter for it's time period but these things are a common problem with shooters of it's time frame with Halo and Call of Duty suffering the same problem. But i think it is a pretty good game.
Republic Commando is a 1st person shooter meant to tell a story with a small multiplayer mode added in last minute. the challenges they faced were different. as i said before, FPS comparable to republic commando such as Halo CE, Halo 2, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 3, had similar problems as well due to the limits of the hardware of the time.
