I have uploaded a video playing alone and making noise, maybe it can help you: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1554180975
Co-op: He's only coming after one of you at a time so use those mics and communicate! In-game messages tell you the names of the locations so learn them to help the club. He'll knock down anyone in his path that he isn't after but won't capture them. That means - (hint hint!) he is physically walking around even if you can't see him with your eyes open.
Personally I have found that climbing is the best way to get out of reach from the shape, many of the rooms underground have spaces you can climb up into that is far out of reach from the shape, and once you are up there the shape will either A: begin climbing, but this takes it a bit allowing you to plan how to run away, and with the fact that it takes some time to climb back down it gives you a good bit of time, or B: it will be unable to find you giving you a safe spot to hang around in
currently playing a map and if one of us gets the shape on them it doesnt leave even if it catches that person .. :/
Once summoned, the Shape will pursue the active player with the highest Sin. For the most part, he appears to follow the same rules as other enemies regarding visibility, with an added factor: Your current Sin contributes to your "visibility" for the Shape. At 0 Sin, you will more or less be invisible to the Shape, and are safe from interactions with him as long as you don't bump directly into him. Anything higher though, and the Shape will be able to narrow down his search area.
It seems that with enough Sin, the Shape will simply know where you are. You can usually outrun the Shape but climbing and jumping between high points will typically get you the most distance. However, as the developers spot trouble areas for the Shape to maneuver they improve them over time. Don't be surprised if he can jump to or climb on a spot he couldn't previously! Additionally, if you're in an out of reach area but the Shape has line of sight to you, he will attempt to knock you out with his ranged area-of-effect attack. You must leave the area he uses this strategy.
Also, because the Shape will pursue the player with the highest Sin, it can be an effective tactic for the hunted player to keep his distance from the rest of the team. This will keep the largest threat away from the rest of the party and even if a teammate is subdued by a Sleeper or Lucid it will considerably delay the Shape on his way to convert them. This gives your teammates additional time to rescue someone before they get taken by the Shape.
