Planes getting stuck and rotating on the spot?

I have just got back into the game and have been trying out the plane. However they seem to always be problems with them?

The get stuck at airports and end up in some instances just rotating back and forwards as if they are stuck on the ground.

Did you connect the taxiway to the runway?
Also, most common reason for planes not taking off is that they have no safe place to land = if there is problem with the destination airport, the planes will not take off.

Yes they work and then all of a sudden they randomly stop working and get stuck. Maybe the planes aren't the best at path finding yet. If I have anymore than 2 planes trying to land it seems to happen

Yup, I've got 3 planes that have been stuck on a taxiway tile for the last ~6 hours of gameplay. Other planes taxi through them fine, while attempting to give any commands to the stuck planes produces no results. They also block any attempted deleting of the taxiway tile they're on.

It's to be expected from a recent released patch.

I have found if I change the direction of the taxiway and press reverse on then aircraft then this releases the aircraft from this state. However it takes a good bit of time to do this with trial and error too.

I have had a similar issue with trains stopping and not moving. I have found that entering the train to first person frees the train. It may work on the planes? Not sure since every time I get to planes the game freezes after about an hour and crashes.
