Question About How To Move the Abbot
I am an experienced Carcassonne board game player but only recently started playing this online version.

In the board game if you draw a Monastery tile, you can remove your Abbot from a previous Monastery (or garden) and place him on the new tile. I cannot figure out the mechanics of how to do it in this online version.

I am seeing a "ghost" version of the Abbot but when I try to click on it to move it to the new tile it ends up going to my inventory and I don't get credit for the new Monastery.

Could someone please explain the mechanics of how to do it?

Not how the Abbot works in the board game.. after placing a tile, you either pick up OR place a meeple.., not both, then you resolve scoring

When you pick up the Abbot he always returns to your supply and whatever points he was currently worth, you need to wait for you next tile to be able to place him back on the board

So you are saying it does NOT work like the board game and I am unable to use my Abbot by picking him up from one monastery to start another one in the same turn?

The Abbot, Fairy and Count are the only meeples I can think of that are "picked up" or moved if you do not place a meeple.. The Wagon can move to an unfinished feature after it scores its completed feature

You are playing the board game wrong.

Phases of a turn:
1. Pick and place tile
2. Place follower or don't.
3. If yo do not place a follower, you can recover abbot and score.
4.If you completed something: Score.

And you play: 1 then 2 then 3 then 4.

NOT 1 then 2 then 3 then 2 again then 4.
