Do you need to create an Asmodee Digital account for local play?

Answering my own question, it appears that the answer is no you don't. You only need to create an account for online play.

Can't create an account anyway. Register for an account, "That username and password don't match."

Tried with different usernames too. Oh well, offline play it is.

I had the same problem, so I went on Asmodee's website and I found out that I already had an account, the one I used for playing Ticket to Ride (Days of Wonder and Asmodee actually share the same accounts). So I launched the game and just logged in (after changing password)!
If you have a Days of Wonder account too, you just need to log in! :)

I think they've had some changes to avatar sizes/dimensions on the backend and it hasn't filtered through to a lot of their games (since so many asmodee games seem to be pump and dump to the wild and then left to fend for themselves)..

If you set your avatar again on the asmodee.net profile settings again hopefully it will work?

Their netplay stuff is still so far behind what we consider basic standards of usability and functionality and I wish that any of the dev teams making digital versions of games had ux designers or there was some central ux support from asmodee themselves because damn so many of their games are horrible just to get to a game let alone get to an online game.
