Can I get a rules clarification...?
My two friends played a head to head match last night. They called me for a rules clarify since I know the rules, but I am confused on this outcome...

Basically they came down to the last tile. Player 1 ran out of time on the timer and according to the rules gets eliminated. His screen said he lost. Player 2 got the points totaled and LOST 126-124 on his screen...

So who actually won the game??

A bit late, but P2 should have won. Look it up in the games history in the Asmodee account, and it should show the result as Player 2 (124), Player 1 (0). This is the official result. The end screen, on the other side, gives the result of the board at the end of the game not considering the time: this is because when one times out, he is kicked and replaced by the AI, who carries on the game till the end (a moot point when at the last tile). It happened to me as well and that's how I checked.

But you can still resume if you've disconnected - even if the AI has played turns for you. I think the way it works, is that the game is still played out until all tiles have been placed and the player with more points wins - regardless if the AI took over or not or if time ran out or not.

This is kind of besides the point but I set the timer to 35mins in 1v1 and turn off the AI. Whenever someone disconnects, I just alt-tab and watch some YouTube or do something else while I wait for them to resume or their time runs out. There's usually less than 20 mins to wait by that point so to me, it's no big deal and I also put the min Karma to 3 so it's pretty rare that someone leaves and doesn't return. Whenever I host 3+ player matches, I adjust the timer with less time for each player accordingly. I like to give people about 2 mins to play each tile. Seems reasonable to me, especially considering how buggy this game is. Based on my own experience, I've been disconnected or the game crashes at least once in three matches. So less time on the clock (and allowing the AI to take turns) seems to be detrimental to the game in general due to the amount of time it takes to re-launch the game. If they would put a 3-5 min delay on the time it takes for the AI to take over, that would be a different story but as it is, I feel as though this is the fairest approach to all players who join my games.
