has this happened to you?
First I selected a vertical row of ticketing machines. The entire area was zoned:

Then I pasted it to the right of the existing machines. Part of the ticketing zone got removed (the part I made yellow) and the tiles where the new machines were pasted:

But this was mentioned in today's update notes. I have to try your specific problem, though.
Edit: Sometimes it got cleared to the North. And when I cancle the paste operation, the floors still get cloned. So when you paste something to an area with a different floor and you want to cancel it, you have to cancel it twice: once for the object(s) and once for the floor tiles. Which means that you don't cancel the paste, but you cancel the pasted objects. My logic would say that you cancel the paste action. But I know my logic is not everyones logic... ;)
yeah regarding the cancelling, that is my logic too. Your problem and mine are similar as well. maybe it is not as specific as I described it but more like how Achillodene described it.
regarding the update notes, i think it was a bit vague. Because if what we are discussing here is what they referred to in the notes, they should have mentioned it as a bug as it is clearly a bug. That is why I believe in the notes that they are referring to the zones where the clone is pasted as the one that will be cleared.
"Zones are cleared from the area when 'pasting'"
A "move"- tool would be great too, btw... ;p. The basics are the same, you only have to remove the source... ;)
What hapened is I want to copy my ticketing area to my new terminal. But since it had queues, I cannot select the entire zone to copy it. Rather I need to copy it in sections which is quite a hastle as I need to measure stuff again since I want to preserve the layout.
Another suggestion would be to be able to copy an area while ignoring the floor (like carpets). It could be done by allowing the user to press a modifier key (such as CTRL) when pasting a cloned area. That when that modifier is held down while pasting, only the items/objects are pasted and not the floor.
+1. Good suggestions!
