Aircraft off center line

Just out of curiosity, why do the planes park off the center line at the gates? It doesn't take away at all from my gameplay experience , just noticed it and wondered?

That happens with some aircraft mods , because the creator have got problems to find the right position at the gate (That tool for that is not realy good and is annoying) So he have to choose a good position at gate(that the stairs/brigde will fit) or a good position at taxi/runway. Thats why some plane have that
