Having an issue with retail staff...

I've created multiple shops, eg clothing store, pharmacy, candy, etc, and 4 registers in each. They were working fine, but lately finding an issue where one register in each store no longer works and the error states it needs to be inside a store zone, even though it clearly is right at the back of the store. the 3 other registers in each store work fine, and I have sufficient staff to cover them all including the ones that wont work.

I've tried dismantling and rebuilding the register
I've tried de zoning the store completely and re zoning it

Sometimes after I've done one, or both of the above it will start working again for a short time but then stop working again and I'm forced to keep repeating the above.

Admittedly my airport is now quite large, forget how many gates (about 18), and lots of flights coming in and out, I've expanded the land as far as it can go, done all research etc so I've got lots of transport arriving to drop off/pick up passengers, so the airport is very busy and I do get a lot of slow down. Wondering if maybe I'm hitting some kind of limit on the number of employees or type of employee the game can handle (I tried firing a bunch of workmen but it didn't help).

A bit annoyed as it's getting to the point where I might have to abandon the game for now, I still had quite a bit left I wanted to do but the game doesn't seem to be able to cope. I don't mean that to sound like a complaint though, just saying it's a bit frustrating after spending so much time creating the airport to have to stop now. Overall I've enjoyed the game a lot, although I wish it was possible to save rooms/zones as a template to use again later, eg create my own cafe, save and re-use it for future airports.

Follow the instructions on this post to send your save and logs to the devs. It has been reported both her on steam and the discord server a while back. maybe your save can help them out. It is best to zip the save if it is a big file.
