Game Froze After Land Purchase

So, I just bought some land but right after I did it took me back to the loading screen. Once the game showed back up the sound of wind could be heard but cars, people, planes, Etc. I can also demo things but the workers are also frozen. I even save the game, quit and got back in. Still nothing. Anybody else had this problem?

when you purchase land a new save is created. you should be able to reload the old save and try again

As chick said you should have a "land_expansion" save - this is always made just before the game expands. In any case I'd like to take a look at both saves, the "land_expansion" and the one saved after the expansion.
