Personally, I recommend 1:2:2 if using metal detectors, 1:2:3 if using bodyscanners. ID Check is typically fastest. It's also worth noting that remote bag check speed is dependent upon the number of units attached to a desk; past four or five, you'll see efficiency declines.
Also, always assign your machines to one another to form lanes; letting pax choose each individual step leads to high inefficiency.
How far is security from ticketing? Security to the gates? Both of these will also impact how fast the pax pursue security, which could result in a slightly later-than-desired "blitz" on security.
All of this compounds of course, so if you have 3-4 "inefficiencies" -- or even just a tough schedule (flights not staggered much) -- then the small problem can quickly cascade into a major one that causes many, many more missed flights than you'd have with all else the same except with a more staggered schedule, for instance. :)
Check stands are definitely faster, but you can have two people using a bag scanner at the same time. One on the entrance, and one on the exit. For this reason, 2 stands are better, as they alternate and keep it flowing. Metal detectors are the slowest link, which is why I was using two. Body scanners get backed up with only 1 bag scanner for 3 body scanners, so they are useless to me. Remote scanners do slow down if monitored in larger numbers, so that is a valid point. But I was not suggesting a ratio to use. Only that a ratio other than 1:1:1 is a requirement. There are other factors impacting speeds through securityas suggested by the Dev, which culd explain why we have difference of opinion based on our own results.
Been subscribing to airports in the workshop to try and see how others have done theirs but I don't know how to get those airports in my game =/
Yeah I posted about the same thing in the Workshop part of the forums earlier and saying just that, been going through my game files, save files and so on and can't find it =p
But I guess finding it in the workshop in-game would work (I hope it has a search function =)
Ah cheers, I only clicked the Workshop in-game once but closed it down instantly when I realized it was just to look for new things and not to see what you had =) (so to speak)
