We'll add this into the upcoming tutorial, which is about to be released to Edge in the next week or so, as it's pretty important info & clearly something that isn't conveyed well (or at all really) right now.
I know concrete runway is almost 50% more expensive, but I don't know the difference.
It will shut the runway down during the construction of course, but it only requires the time & materials for the "new length" amount + paint time/materials for the entire length (meaning it is slightly cheaper & faster to make the runway larger up-front, but not by a large amount).
