It is a request for future expansion and the devs are looking into possibilities, but no firm commitments as of yet as far as I know.
That's what i thought. If you have any idea how to make it more efficient, I take^^

Larger drop-off zones seem to help, but that's only if the busses are stacking up and waiting for a turn. If they're sliding right in for drop off, then the zone's big enough.

Perhaps, but you can't do that as a player, and the idea has been lofted multiple times. Besides, airports with multiple drop offs are set up that way for widely spread terminals handling different airlines - not really the case on the scale the game is operating on.
I'll have a look. It is set at maximun now (buses and ltr every 15mins) and i have still people that waits a lot...
Absolutely not. They tend to stack up at peak time but the arrival and departure areas are big enough to deal with that
