Security Zone/Protected Zone

I have security zone on ground level and my gates on upper level. I have put in escalators to get passengers to the upper level but when i try to move one of the escalators, i suddenly find that the upper level is now 'protected zone' and no longer a secured zone. Please help

Protected zone means no one can reach it (apart from workmen).

If you place a stair or an escalator and setting it to go up your pax will reach it again.

Thank you but i have done that. and have escalators going up to the second level and they are going in the right direction but it still tells me it is protected zone. It seems i can only put an escalator in one specific position in order for it to work. How can post a screen shot so you are able to see please?

I think i have done this correctly and i am sure i am doing something fundamentally wrong in the game and have been trying all sorts to correct it over the last couple of days.

I have also added stairways into the game now and that still doesnt work

so un secure ticketing entrance area. Pax goes thru security/security zone and exits into secure area of airport then up and down from there

Thats seems to be exactly it, i amended the Security Zone size so they escalators are not in it and all problems solved. I knew i was doing something wrong. Thank you very much for your help.
