Electronics vending should get some usage -- though it depends on where you locate it and what other sources of entertainment are nearby. If you've got a lot of alternatives nearby, especially more cost-effective alternatives, then the passengers will be less likely to use the Electronics Vending in favor of the other, cheaper alternatives.
We have been working on getting that balanced better, it's tricky just because of how much data goes into the computations/pax decisions, everything from distance to cost, to alternatives & wait times, etc...
We probably need to bump it up again slightly -- or honestly maybe just let you directly set the pricing, in which case you'd have much more control over which vending machines were the most busy (and likewise, how profitable they were).
We'll go ahead & take a look at bumping it up again for tonight's Edge, may see if I can sneak in a "price setting" UI if I have get my current code done & have a chance this afternoon.
Hope you're enjoying so far, definitely keep the feedback coming for sure!
Here's what I can tell you:
Food and electronics rake it in if you put them near the gates. I never make less than a grand a day on _each_ machine, and it looks like I've got lines forming again so I've got to add more of them.
I have a food box at security entrance and it never breaks $200 per day. Food box in cafe makes almost nothing,, but, beause of the new register zoning bug, the area is kind of dead and I've stopped building on it so it may make more once that is back up and running.
An ATM won't break $100 no matter where I put it,
I'd also like to ask why all of the other retail items acutally cost money instead of making it (except for the drink machine)? That seems strange. Shouldn't all of the retail items generate money? A high startup cost + tax and maintenance is fine, but I don't understand why they don't generate money. I have avoided putting them in so far because of that.
