Good idea.

This is an idea I have been pushing for a while. Glad to see others wanting it as well.

Nice contribution @A-Train. Glad we both share the same interest.

Im sure the devs have the cargo feature in mind, but it will take time as all the other things they have in store for us.

I hope with this effort to highlight our ideas so that the devs will prioritize them more, or at least know what we (the players) think about different features for SimAirport in the future

Finally got this artwork to where I can share... Still needs AGE (Aerospace Ground Equipment like tugs, container dollies, etc.), vehicles (like trucks and the big lift deals they roll the containers off the aircraft onto), and details (like stains, old paint marks, and stadium lights for night operations) but I think it doesn't look too bad, for MS Paint... :-)

Usecase? Trading maybe?
Because for the retail and deliverys of the airport itself the truck is still the best option

I'm sorry... I don't understand the words that are coming out of your (keyboard). :-)
Usecase? And we're talking about cargo planes... they get their own ramp space. Look at the pic above of John Wayne (SNA) Airport. That's what I modeled this ramp art (rampart! Ha! Get it! :-D ) after. :-)

Usecase, maybe i translate it to Dutch I’m my head but what I meant was Usage purpose
In the Dutch language its one word: "gebruiksdoeleinde" apparently its 2 words in English
And I understand the way you want it to work.
But I don`t understand for what purpose you want cargo planes to work
The only purpose I can imaging is: Trading,
Because if you want to introduce cargo only for getting delivery’s for the stuff you build on the airport, Then the delivery truck is still the best option i.m.o.

I think you @Michplay misunderstood my idea and what @A-Train are saying :)

The idea behind cargo-planes and SimAirport is that we would get the chance to make contracts with airplane delivery companies to come to our airports.

Letting them spend money on using our runways and most important off all, letting them use our airport with every facilities available (cargo trucks, fuel, loading and unloading of planes, etc.) to ship their cargo from one place to an another and thus give us money to do so.

For the companies, sure the trading will be their one priority, but for us we'll get the rent for letting them use our facilities :)

I want it to work like DHL, FedEx, or UPS. They fly express cargo to various cities on their jets. They need a dedicated Cargo Ramp to load and unload the aircraft. Stuff is carried in containers and unloaded to dollies that are then taken to a building/hangar for processing. It has nothing to do with delivering stuff to the airport...

This is stuff you order online from Amazon or Ebay... It is usually shipped by air freight.

So those air freight companies pay runway usage fees and ramp fees, plus security access for their trucks.

Just another way to make money. :-)
