Optimum Number of Gate Desk
I've been wondering, how many desk gate is needed for optimum boarding time

have trying seperate first class and coach one with each queue have 1 gate desk, seems fine at earlier day, but kinda slow on later, especially when building more gate either large or extra large

now i have 2 gate desk for 1 queue, seems much better, boarding is more faster now, but idk what will happen when i add more gate in future; large gate now have 1 first class + 3 coach class queue, when extra large have 2 first + 4 coach

what do you think guys ?

should i add more gate desk ?, more queue ?

i'm just wondering though

I'd suggest experimenting with the system and finding the best way that suits your playstyle, but I might be just a little biased! ;)

For the 747 and A380 I use 4 desks and 2 queues. Even then it takes them like over an hour to board them all. But my queue space/lenght is not big enough so I'll have to figure something out. Probably have to remove some seating to make room for more.

yep, back to depend on how the playstyle is

well, until "terminal zoning" is avaiable, i suggest you make central waiting room what i call it

basically, just some space in terminal just after sec check with bunch of bench, so your queue for gate can be still big, i'd say about 25 tile long in straight line is best, for me at least

I use 4 desks and a queue for each (2 bloks wide and then zigzagging 10 bloks up) with an XL gate and have no problem loading all the passengers in time. Even with a full A380 i have more then 90 minutes left when boarding is complete.

So its actually faster with one queue per desk than using 2 desks for one?

I am sorry, this was with the old timeslotsystem. And I don't have a savegame of that.
With the new one you can adjust the timeslot to your needs. Just started a new airport, so I will check how big the timeslot for a380 needs to be.

And about the point of having two desks with one queue: I am in the understanding that the shorter the walk to the desk the faster it goes. So leave just one gap between the desk and the queue. And position the queue exit at the left part of the desk. That part is used to check in.
If you use two desks, the passenger has to walk further which results in a slower check-in. One queue per desk should be the fastest. Passengers will spread evenly across the different queues.

well, i'm disagree about 2 desk is slower

you can try it, maybe it just me, maybe not work on other, idk

since for a while, i'm using it, and at first, just to see if 2 desk is faster or not, turn out even pax need to walk little more, it's like have another queue and desk at same space

does the game let you have the flight ID desk check in happen long before the boarding does like some airports do?

My local airport once the gate is called it has different rooms at each gate full of seats, they scan your boarding pass and passport as you arrive at the gate and then you go inside the room and take a seat whilst the plane is being readied for take off.

you say about "Terminal Zoning" or something like that right ?

for the moment the game not have it, since main issue for now is performance and dev are in progress make it playable

maybe in future that will got implemented, but not for now
