Blank Screen with White square in top right corner

Hello, i have been playing SimAirport quite happily for a number of hours. Today, i go to start the game and it crashes on startup. When i launch the game, the title screen flicks up for about half a second then the screen reverts to black with a large white square in top right corner and it crashes. (Had the black screen and white square all along but no crashes before)

Nothing has changed on my computer. Im running MSI Nvidia GTX 1060. But like i said, had no problems with the game running before today.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled. Started as administrator etc

Sounds like a bug to me since I dont have any white square in top right corne. Has your graphic drivers been updated today?

Nah nothings changed since last time i played the game. Will send Devs over the output file.

When was the last time you played successfully? To confirm, you're on Default (vs experimental)?

We haven't patched General since the 26th now so if you've played since that time then something is definitely amiss. We've had a few other reports along these lines the last few days with similar higher-end configurations; in at least one case the log files pointed towards DirectX errors, and the submitter then did some Googling and managed to find a solution before we did.

IIRC it was something along the lines of hitting ALT+ENTER or similar after starting the game (possibly has something to do with the 'Steam Overlay' maybe). Let me see if I can dig up that thread, otherwise if you want to send your logs over in the meantime then we'll definitely take a look and try to get this solved for you & anyone else that's all the sudden begun to experience this issue.

Obviously your hardware is not an issue here though/the game should definitely run fine, especially given it did prior.

Seems to be a problem with steam updates. The only thing that changed before i ran the game was a steam update.

Solution was to completely shut down steam and once steam was shut down, restart computer.

it happens to me too i cant get on i got it last night and it keeps saying it crashed and i have to send something to the developer

Binary had to restart Steam, restart computer -- can you try that please @mhotchkin? We haven't shipped a patch, and even the stuff on Experimental would definitely not cause this, so it has to be something Steam and/or driver related.

Don't get me wrong, we definitely want to resolve it for you guys regardless of who's fault it is -- if something's stopping you from playing that's an issue. We'll do everything we can to figure out what it is, or at the very least figure out a workaround so we can let everyone else know how to get around it too.

So far the reports have sounded like restarting Steam, then your computer, should do the trick; please let us know if there continues to be an issue though and we'll keep digging at it.

I have the same problem... I bought the game the 26 and play normaly since the 30 I can't start the game...I try to delete and download again; restart computer; ALT + ENTER ; Start the game as administrator ; verify the game by steam; delete some other game... but still nothing also try to log off steam restart computer and steam but nothing change... any idea? it's the beggining of this game and it's normal to have this kind of problem but I hope it will be fix ASAP
