What's this for?
Thought I'd start up a thread to ask/answer questions on items we've found and want to know what it's for:

- The Best Love Poem Ever Written?
- Lucky Cap
- Pocketknife
- Cow Fangs, Brass Bull Rings, Ungulith Horns, Cows Eye
- A bunch of really small guns

The lucky bottlecap and pocket knife don't seem to do anything, other than grant the player access to the lost and found. (You need to name a valid item to take a look at it, and that's important if you want the Cotton Candy achievement.)

Cow items can be given to Barnaby Bob the circus clown for rewards.

The bunch of really small guns can be given to a certain hippy, which in turn lets him set up shop in Dirtwater.

Not sure about the Best Love Poem Ever Written, but I've heard it's part of a quest...?

You can actually trade a balloon to the kid to get the bottle cap to keep yourself.

Which hippy? This is the spoiler section so spoiler away please.

I'm skeptical that the Best Love Poem is part of a quest, because I've played multiple runs and never seen it come up and the poster who claimed it was part of quest never replied to follow up questions.

However, the Best Love Poem isn't labeled "Just sell it" like some other items are, so I remain uncertain about whether it has any use.

Yeah, I'm vaguely assuming it has some use due to the lack of a Just Sell It tag, but I have no idea what that use is, even after several entire playthroughs.

I just poked through the resource data, and the Love Poem book has the following tag associated with it:

"looseend": "This should be used to solve some lovestruck person's problem - Part of the olive / bill saga maybe?",

I'm pretty sure that means that it doesn't currently have a use.

Sounds like maybe it was something planned but not implemented.

What about the full canteen? I can't find any real use for it. I've used it on myself when I'm on fire and on enemies on fire. Nothing.

Ditto on the love poem.

use it on the ground infront of you/an ally in battle and it will provide cover for non-magical attacks. (it has blocked bullets and melee(?) (im not sure about melee its kinda hazy) attacks for me, and also if an attack takes it out the remaining damage doesnt go to you.

the wiki doesnt say anything about the poem so im not sure ether
