Curse you negative perks!

So my Cow puncher character just lost all power from a NEX book. Was hitting about 70-85 DP per hit but now its around 14-17 DP. I have about 57 muscle stat and maxed out damage bonus. Is there an ability/item that either removes or cancels the negative perks? Should i just scrap this character and make a new one? Honestly i dont think i can continue the game since some of my AP skills say they do 0 damage.

Withered Muscles is -25 melee damage. If you're doing 70 less damage, it's because you're now fighting enemies with much higher muscles or armor values compared to your other fights. On the plus side, further negative Nex-Mex perks won't impact your melee damage.

Withered Muscles is the negative perk i got. I fought two weak monsters and i am still having trouble. I fought the monster and he died the first time with the three hit ability. tried it again after reading the book and thats the DP i was doing. Oh well guess i just have to play like so.

From my experiences only Nex when you are the beanslinger. Because my weapons do like 1 danage but I have the sigiled pistol which raises my spell damage by 15. And the beanslinger is already a spell centered class.

Haymaker damage is independent of all other things. It's a flat 50 damage at max rank, and stuns enemies for 3 rounds. On normal difficulty, you should be able to deal with almost all encounters just doing that.

That being said, I think Nex-Mex is only useful in a 'pick and choose only a couple books' sense, with only Beanslinger being a good choice for a full-on Nexomancer.

Toilet Pistol is another good weapon to use. It may do crap damage, but the Poison it inflicts on enemies does stack. I'd imagine it's even BETTER on a Snake Oiler due to the Expert Poisoner passive you can get.
