it can kill your build if you are specced as moxie or muscle. -3 to muscle, -3 to moxie, -25 to pistol damage, -25 to melee damage, it gets bad.

The Nex-Mex skills also give you certain powers that aren't directly combat oriented. Such as allowing you to turn bones and skull fragments into consumeables that summon minions and giving you certain diolog options, namely banishing undead enemies and all that.

But, seriously, don't pick up the Nex-Mex skills unless you're into Mysticality.
