One thing to note when solving this puzzle... the grandmother tells you before the hints that she lived to be 95 years old, but none of the graves have anyone age that long: be sure to look around, her grave exists, and her birth year really helps with her hints.

Another thing that helps is down at the Kellogg Ranch (I think the name is spelled like that) in the locker dormitory, one of the lockers (3 lockpickin') will have a diary that gives a hint to the name. "Diary of _____ Smith" and it'll tell you how long or short the name can be. Not the name itself, gotta find that the hard way!
