Spider Ring: Any reason to actually wear it?

Other than as an extra challenge, of course (Hardcore with the Ring would be nasty). The spiders don't seem to give extra XP, Meat or loot over what the encounter normally gives.

(edit: Think I'll do a Hardcore Spider Ring run, now that I've thought about it. As a Cow Puncher, since my last two playthroughs were the other classes, and with Foragin' instead of Lockpickin', just for the added starting difficulty :)

(edit 2: No. Bad idea. Very, very bad idea.)

A ring you make in the DLC, and which you can then start every new game with, that puts a spider into every fight while you wear it.
