Please dont buy the dynamite, just go through the gulch and get it there. Theres a way to completely avoid all conflicts there you just need to explore it a little.

enter the cave and use all the knowledge you gained to completely avoid fighting all the cactus guards inside. tada you didnt waste a dime and as a bonus 2 of the cactus chests in the cave have meat inside and not a trivial ammount
