Gamebreaking bug with Carthage scenario 4 [Workaround found]
I wish I could upload a screenshot with this, but doesn't seem like I can. Basically, I'm playing the final Carthage scenario, and have run into a gamebreaking bug early into the game. One of my goals is "Defeat the Volcae blocking the Rhodanus river" and there's 2 camps. The problem is the leader of the Volcae is also the leader of the Illyrians for some reason. When I try to declare war on the Volcae, it just declares on the Illyrians instead and I'm not able to declare again.

I even tried killing the leader with my spymaster, which he accomplished, but now somehow she's STILL the leader of the Volcae, and when I select their tribe now, it gives me literally no options to do anything with them at all.

Would love some troubleshooting tips from devs or anyone, cause this certainly prevents me from completing the scenario, or maybe it doesn't, i don't know, but I'd like to get all the objectives regardless.

Judging by the steam achievement stats for this scenario, it seems like not many people play it (hell even I ditched it the first time playing after a short attempt at the 3rd map). I was enjoying it quite a bit this time around now that I'm better at the game, would be a shame if it's now unwinnable due to a bug.

Ahh, the classic, instructions that do not accomplish the thing that they say they'll accomplish. Doesn't work, no URL.

If you cant post a screen shot, ( you cant find the Url?, is it not being saved to disk but held on cloud?. https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/screenshots ) you can always record the issue, upload to youtube and link to it.

I made a post on the game's subreddit and posted the picture there. Hopefully that should make some sense. Also sorry if my comment was snarky, I know you were just trying to help! It's just a pet peeve of mine when I follow a walkthrough and it doesn't result in the thing it says it should result in. https://old.reddit.com/r/OldWorldGame/comments/12gmx81/encountered_a_bug_preventing_me_from_beating/

So all good now then:steamthumbsup:, seems like a steam overlay issue with the URL preventing you from linking it here then if you can post it on reddit. Im sure the Scn designer will appreciate the feedback. The discord channel might be a quicker place to get it looked at, Reddit i know they keep tabs on, but discord is manned 24/7 https://discord.com/channels/703016545953251379/705090856830632027

Ok so I found a workaround thanks to a couple comments on the reddit thread. For anyone else who happens to encounter this problem and might see this post, here's the fix.

Force a unit to attack one of the Volcae units (just select the unit and right click on them, you may need to actually be in range to get the war to actually trigger). Very simple fix, and one that I thought I'd have tried if only by accident, but there we go, fixed!
