Base game is amazing - I'm currently playing a game with all of the DLC disabled. Very worth it; give it a try. That's an absolute steal.

Yes, the base game is very rich and the DLCs are like nice extras. Not like other games where it's the other way round.

The base game is probably the best 4X style game ever made. The DLC are good, but the base game is balanced perfectly without all of that.

Yes. Base game is great. I moved up to the DLC a few months ago and have been enjoying the latest additions, too. It's got a bit of a learning curve, but I think there's a demo you can download if you wnat to try it. Heck for 1.5 pounds, it's a steal!

Base game is a complete game. No DLC's needed to enjoy. Fantastic purchase and CIv 7 already sucking like everyone knew it would. THIS is the best 4X on the market for a challenge and enjoyability.
