it was designed to be simple enough to do before full release.
since there are no bonuses for new captains in a lineage for prevously completed ambitions except for a level-up facet and continunig in a lineage means you cant re-do diffrent branches in anything you did with a previous captain choosing the wealth ambition just means you would enjoy the game less.
you either start a lineage and have to edit in stuff to skip the less intresting parts and get annoyed you dont keep anything from your previous game or continue in the lineage and have an emptier world and if you did too much content maybe have to grind for rare stuff for an actually involved ambition instead of getting it from quests since the quests mostly dont exist
