Unable to find Magdalene's

There's something wrong with the chart and the instructions given to find places. I'm supposed to sell those 3 seeds in Magdalene's, which is "west from New Winchester", but I've been searching for it in every single direction, to the point that I went to a place where the game "suggests" to go back and leave it, becaue I wasn't supposed to be there. I'm not sure if it has something to do with my current level or something like that.

I'm not sure I'd be able to find the place, I reduced the resources consumption in order to try and find it. If it were not for that, I would spend like 3 lives in order to reach this point.

The most "unpleasant" thing is following instructions like "it's at the west", just to spend resources one life after another and not finding a single port at the west.

Isn't the map different for every player in this game?

You're still in the inner circle, Magdalene is further out. Are you setting out with 2 fuel or something to be concerned with running out?
But check the prospect everytime you exit the game, because I heard the location isn't fixed until you've come close enough.

It is, but I've seen another post of a player saying he wasn't able to find that exact location, and he had discover way less map than me. Nobody told him he was still far from Magdalene's, so I assumed I wasn't either.

I don't leave a port with less than 4-5 fuel/food.

I thought there was something wrong, because in this topic (https://steamcommunity.com/app/596970/discussions/0/1693785035810939440/) a player posted his chart and he discovered less map than me, but nobody told him he was still far from Magdalene's, that's why I assumed I was missing something.

When I was reaching the southeast circus, I got a random event telling me something like "you weren't suppose to be here", and one of the options was something like "get painfully back to where you should be" (consuming 3 fuel units) or similar, so I assumed I wasn't supposed to be there. I picked the other option and lost half my crew but managed to get there.

Anyway, if you say I'm still far from Magdalene's... it's okay for me, I rest assured I'm not searching blindfold, thanks for that.

Actually you might not have been very far from it. Did you try your scout when you were at that western edge?
As for that event, it might just be one of those random events that pop-up occasionally due to certain factors like high terror, low crew, etc.

Just going to chime in here to echo what others have said, you need to venture much further out to find it. However you should also be aware of our how our procedural generation works for the segments. On a new save game like that where you haven't discovered the segments and locked down their position as it were, the directions to them are likely to change the next time you reload the save file.

You can read an explanation of exactly how this works in our Troubleshooting Guide[www.failbettergames.com], but I'll sign off with the advice that if you've reloaded your save since you were told Magdalene's is in the west, then I'd check your journal/hold for the directions before you set off again.

I managed to reach Magdalene's (unfortunately, not the seeds I was carrying to it), and it was indeed at the west. The thing is I had a bad experience while playing Sunless Sea with that same topic, the directions provided by certain characters about locations they wanted me to make a report of. I spent a ridiculous amount of time checking even between the northern icebergs rifts in order to find something "north from London", when it was actually at the far northeast, and I thought I was in the middle of that "issue" again.

Anyway, not complaining guys, I'm enjoying the game, even if I'm still missing certain aspects from Sunless Sea. I just wanted help to get through it and that's exactly what I got. Thank you very much for your help.

Don't remember how accurate the directions were in Sea but it's good enough here.
Plus all the other facilitations compared.
