the royal society has an experimental equipement that gives cannery but goes on the bridge slot, so, by using a train with 2 aux slots, you can have assaying, mining, and cannery at the same time
I have all those that but I also have an cargo module for I think it was +11 cargo with the Rattie. Honestly never found canning overly useful as of yet but also haven't found much use for bridge slots so I may as well put a cannery in with armor bonus. If I ever get a 3 auxillary slot or an assaying tool that say, goes in the bridge or armor slot I'd definitetly equip it. Just can't see the point in losing a valuable auxillery slot over it, atleast not the basic tier 1 version which is all I've seen so far.
i mean, i have been finding assaying usefull when doing trade from port to port and prospects, but its nothing more than a little bonus, though a welcome one, specially in places like albion that there isnt much to do to reduce terror and assaying the adrift buildings can help with that
cannery is usefull if you know where to find cantankary or those eels things, but it does feel kind of useless in the big scheme of things, still, free supplies are free supplies
