I freed the guy, threw a switch for a new path, and have traveled between time to find this new path. I also see 2 unreachable chests (one silver, one red). In the area that the guy was freed there is what looks like a locked gate and an entrance at the back of the prison cell. Any clues/hints to get in and get those chests would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you ever find out how to get those chests?

Nevermind, I found out. Now I get to climb all the way up again. Yay!
