I get that it's hard to be a gamer in some parts of the world, but that doesn't mean you should go around telling sob stories hoping for handouts.
That said, I battled myself over this for a solid 4-5 days before breaking down. I loved this game on PS2 and have always meant to go back, and with all the enhancements to the upgrade systems, I had to give it a go.
In less than a week I've already reached 42 hours of gameplay. Have been enjoying it a lot, and while I do think it should be cheaper, it is definitely more worth the $25 it's asking on sale than most AAA games are at any price below that mark.
edit:
Nevermind. I have 46 hours already. God, what has my life become?
Games are not something you need and if you can't afford luxury then you can't afford it. I too would like to have a nive big 75" 4K 240Hz OLed display but i am not willing to pay that much but also not complaining about it.
Secondly, it is not a 2006 game, is a remaster with quite a new features added on.
and Thirdly, 15 dollars for such an amazing game is CHEAP.
Now if you can't / don't want to pay for it, do not play it. This game offers more for 15 dollars than most of moder AAA games do for 80 dollars.
Games are a luxury you know?
I've already seen videos about this game and it's differences in comparison to original version that I played on PS2 and as much as I'm curious about it I still don't think it is worth the 50% sale just for nostalgia, that's all I'm saying! I did not expect no one to agree with me about the dollar question because I really don't know how much it worth U$15,00, maybe you can have a great meal or maybe you can buy some good scotch but I assure you R$82,00 must buy at least 2 versions of this game.
Here in Brazil most of ppl I know, normal people and streaming gamers, they usually spend R$200,00 =~ U$40,00 in FIFA, RDR2 or Elden Ring. I used to spend too a lot of money with released games and I have the complete sense about games beeing a luxury but I stopped this habit.
I loved playing this game (OG version) and I did 100% more than once and I would do again one more time but not for U$15,00 today 01/02/2023.
Sounds straightforward enough, wouldn't you say?
They're not idiots. They price according to what they think will maximize profits. The goal isn't to sell the most copies. It's to make the most money. And although related, those are two goals with very different mechanics, economically.
If they're not discounting this more it means they think they can make more money selling fewer copies at a higher price. Which is not surprising considering this is one of the better FF games.
See the features, remastered graphics, sound, quality of life changes, new license boards, reworked balance, trial mode and more. It is not the same as the 2006 version, And I played both. 15 dollars for an amazing game with a ton of new features? A no brainer.
"What tha hell. I did not meant to be offensive to anybody"
No sir, you are not offensive to anyone, but you should understand that your post can be seen as this:
First, you want to complain expecting Square to lower the prices more (not likely, you should know they don't read this forum)
Secondly, you want to share your opinion that this game is too expensive for what it is worth even at 50% discount. And as you are entitled to have your opinion, we are entitled to haven an opinion abour yours. And honestly, your post looks like you are begging someone to buy you a copy. I don't know in Brasil, but the minimum wage for one hour of work in USA is 17 dollars I believe, so pretty much one hour of work for 100+ hours of play this game can give you.
Also, you saying that this game is a MMORPG and that it has rng did not help.
It is almost every time. Like 98% of the time. Remember me mistaking someone saying it for you, Melodia?
That said the game does have RNG. Drop chance in the chests endgame are so much annoying RNG, and a number of Mark and Rare Spawn enemies are RNG as well.
And it is a 2007 game, with 2 jobs selectable now, and some QoL features. Absolutely still worth $25. I paid 50 and then it went on sale week and a half later. Still worth it. Mods, my guys. Struggle for Freedom. I am excited to try hard mode and randomizer mods as well. Might try my hand at a "lol I am Yuna!" run, using only Ashe and an infinite-timer summon.
Oooh that sounds fun, I tried a Penelo "you have to summon every boss" run though didn't get too far into it, but having an infinate timer would really help that.
