Enemies all have fixed stats. So early on they can be a bit of a challange but you also get still good rewards (and maybe unlock other things).
There is no real downside to waiting till you are at the end of the game - just most hunts at that point will feel like trashmobs.
But as said above, they're at a fixed difficulty, so if you wait too long they're REALLY easy - like one-shot-and-done easy. At the same time, some will also be somewhat hard if you do them the instant they're available.
It's up to you what to do with that.
Yes, they are all the same.
I can't think of any immune to physical damage. There are some where magick is for sure a better option, and a couple where piercing damage (guns etc) is worthless, but nothing actually 'can't kill it physically'.
Trickster. It puts a paling up at low HP and shifts his element so it absorbs elemental magic while pounding you with Choco Comet.
Best way to finish them off when this hunt is first available is to put it to sleep and use the balance spell. If it uses white wind it is invulnerable to sleep for awhile and you will need to try to survive in the meantime. You can also try to keep yourself alive for a few minutes using reverse until the paling ends and you can use physical attacks again. That would seem to take a lot less time than waiting for poison to finish the job.
Most immunities last a max of 2 in-game minutes (i.e. it passes faster with speed-up), which isn't that much. So even if you can't deal damage otherwise, often it's best to just wait it out.
As for Trickster, it shifts elemental resistances - usually there's still a weakness, it just keeps changing. A good spread of gambits on a multi-element user like e.g. Black Mage can still make you deal damage. Or use non-elemental spells like Scathe, Scourge, etc.
That’s a good point re: elemental damage, I’ve not tried that. The reason I used balance is because that is the only non elemental damage spell available when trickster is first available.
Forgot to mention but you also need to kill Monid off if you are using sleep on Trickster so it isn’t woken up by his attacks.
